We are open weekends from 24th May until 19th July & then we will be open everyday from 19th July until 1st September.
Our tranquil grounds are a breath of fresh air. Scar Close is set in a beautiful area and offers delightful accommodation with truly impressive views.
It's a special place where you can connect with nature and feel right at home. You get to set the pace of your adventure. Relax and lose yourself in a good book, explore a network of country footpaths, ride off the beaten track or visit the many attractions nearby. You can even take a step back in time and enjoy picking fresh blackberries.
Obviously, an outdoor cookout is a must-do on many people's list. However, we respectfully request that no open fires are built. You're welcome to bring your own barbecue, but these must not be placed directly on the ground.
Our Rates and Offers
At Scar Close you can choose a spacious pitch for Camping in your own tent, or you can choose from our Glamping provisions in our pre-pitched traditional five-metre bell tents.
Camping in Your Own Tent
We offer spacious pitches where you can put up your own tent for up to four people. Please note, none of our pitches have electric hook up facilities.
Pricing Details
- Non-electric grass tents pitch: £38
- Bell tent (basic): £55 (minimum 2 night stay)
- Maximum 4 people per tent
- Booking for 7 nights, includes 1 free night's stay
Luxury Glamping Tent
Each of these tents are five metres (16ft) in diameter. All have a comfortable double bed, all bed linen included, with up to two extra camp beds per tent provided.

- Under-3s free (please bring your own travel cot)

Rent a Bell Tent
These are 4m tents to sleep up to 4 people. Basic sleeping mats are provided but all other bedding and equipment you will need to bring with you.

All our Glamping tents have integral groundsheets and each tent has its own wooden picnic bench provided. You'll need to bring other equipment, such as for cooking and eating, and any additional seating you may require.
Scar Close has serviced toilet cubicles and rustic showers for your use. Coffee and croissants will be available to purchase in the mornings.
Introducing Our Holiday Bothies
We can offer you stays in our new bespoke holiday bothies. These have been developed from old stone animal shelters that have been situated on the land for many years & have now been sensitively restored to reflect the surroundings & have been updated to give the best of luxury accommodation.

Enter inside the bothies & you will find the most unique, comfortable, well-equipped accommodation. Rustic yet contemporary with all the comforts you need. TV & Wi-Fi, underfloor heating for those chilly nights. Wood burning stove to add to the warmth & ambience, with a stove top for warming delicious pies.
Well-equipped kitchen area, including fridge & cooking facilities. Enjoy the morning with a lovely fresh coffee or favourite brew!

The day of your depature
Parking at Scar Close
During dry weather you'll be able to park next to your tent. In the event of wet weather, alternative parking will be arranged and, if required, assistance will be given to transport your equipment to your pitch.
A Few Site Rules
- We don’t accept bookings for stag/hen parties, and because we are a family-oriented site, we respectfully request quiet time after 9:30pm across all Camping and Glamping pitches
- No unaccompanied children under 18
- No naked flames or smoking in any tent
- You’re welcome to bring your own barbecue, but please don’t place it directly on the ground or on picnic benches
- Please don’t feed the farm animals in neighbouring fields
- Day visitors to the site are only allowed by prior arrangement and fees may be applied
- No pets allowed in holiday bothies
- No open fires to be built. However, you're welcome to use our ready-made traditional cmapfire, edged with stones. Please don't enlarge or alter the fire area and any fires must be extinguished when not supervised. By lighting a campfire, you accept full responsibility for it. Scar Close does not accept any liability for injury or damage caused by your campfire
- Well-behaved pets are welcome but must be kept under control at all times for the comfort of other campers and safety of farm animals and wildlife
- Any pet fouling must be cleaned up immediately
- For Luxury Glamping, no muddy paws on beds please
What You Should Bring

- Food and drink
- A bowl or bucket for washing up
- Torches (the site is not lit at night)
- Yourselves and cameras to capture those stunning views!
For Your Safety
- There are lots of rocks, drystone walls and trees on site. Please don’t let children climb on them, both for their own safety and to prevent damage
- Children are the responsibility of their parents or guardians and must be supervised at all times while on site
- During the Covid-19 pandemic we will be adhering strictly to any local and national guidelines and we ask that our guests do the same

This former hobby farm comprises 36 acres of grassland and woodland, with sloping hills and views as far as the eye can see. At 163 metres, Warton Crag is the highest point in the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
